2. Halo: Reach

Halo is one of the most critically acclaimed and best-selling game series of all time. Telling the story of Master Chief, a powerful warrior developed by the United Nations Space Command, it followed humanity’s struggle against a powerful Covenant army determined to wipe out humanity throughout the universe.

The Halo universe is rich in background, with numerous books and animated films covering events outside of those seen in the Halo games.

Halo: Reach fills in more of the Halo story, focusing on the Battle of Reach, shortly before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, the first Halo game.

Reach is considered the United Nation Space Command’s most important manufacturing and military centers. Home to millions of people and home to the largest spaceport outside of the Solar System, Reach comes under attack by a Covenant invasion force and it’s up to Noble Team, a UNSC spec ops unit to help fight back.

Halo: Reach is destined to feature more of the excellent shooter gameplay we’ve come to expect from the Halo series and may well offer a darker, more team-oriented experience. In addition, Halo has always been known for its amazing multiplayer and its numerous modes of play. A multiplayer beta for Halo: Reach is expected to begin this spring, with codes given out to owners of Halo: ODST, the latest Halo title following a squad of Operation Drop Shock Troopers in New Mombasa.

Halo: Reach, being developed by Bungie, is expected to be released during the Holiday season of 2010.
