Terminal Gamer’s 10 Most Anticipated Xbox 360 Games of 2010

3. Bioshock 2

Bioshock is one of the greatest games of the current generation consoles. A frightening, completely unique, dystopian world undersea and a compelling story that featured stunning twists and excellent weapon and special-power based attacks, Bioshock was a major hit and a stunning revelation of the power a video game can hold over the player.

Bioshock 2 finds you playing as the original Big Daddy (those hulking beasts in underwater suits) 10 years after the events of Bioshock. Because it’s set years after the fall of Atlas, the city is in even greater disarray. Completely falling apart, the city of Rapture is springing leaks and is run by a new kid, Sophia Lamb, who has discarded Andrew Ryan’s ideas of objectivism and individualism in favor of working together as a community. Her leadership has brought about a religious revolution among the surviving citizens of Rapture, who have all grown even crazier over time.

As the original, prototype Big Daddy, you set out to find a Little Sister. Along the way, you will seek to free Little Sisters from other Big Daddy’s and can either extract Adam from them or have them join you. If they join you, they can point out bodies that have Adam in them, though, when the Little Sister collects Adam you will have to protect her from Splicers who attack from all angles.

In addition to the new story and adapting world of Rapture, you play as a more powerful character than in the first game. You have the ability to wield a weapon and plasmids at the same time, and you’ll need to, because as a Big Daddy, you are a constant target of coordinated attacks by Splicers throughout the city.

Building on Bioshock’s unique setting, fantastic gameplay, and stunning graphics, Bioshock 2 is most definitely setting up to be an intriguing, exciting return to Rapture. Bioshock 2 will be released on February 9, 2010.

The horrifying, splicer-filled world of Rapture comes in at number 3. Would you kindly pick it up on February 9?
