Flight Control Closes in On App Store Record

Flight Control Looks to Beat Out Pocket God For Title of Best Selling App

January 27, 2010 – Just over a week ago the team at Bolt Creative announced that their smash hit Pocket God had sold two million copies, officially making it the best selling paid app ever. Pocket God’s title may be in jeopardy though, as the Australia based developer Firemint announced yesterday that sales of their widely popular title, Flight Control, have also passed the two million mark.

When asked about the game’s success, Firemint CEO, Robert Murray, had this to say:

Flight Control has been an incredible success for us, and we owe that to the way people around the world have embraced it. Flight Control and Real Racing made 2009 a huge year for us, and we’re looking forward to revealing some brand new games for 2010 very soon.”

The news of Firemint’s success is troubling for Bolt Creative. Although Pocket God still outranks Flight Control in sales, the latter only took about half as much time as Pocket God to achieve the same level of success. If things continue at this pace, Firemint may only be a few well-planned updates away from knocking Pocket God off its throne.
