UFC 2009 – 3.5 Million Sales

THQ’s Martial Arts Masterpiece Achieves ‘Platinum Hits’ and ‘Greatest Hits’ Status

February 2, 2010 UFC 2009 Undisputed, the martial arts video game developed by Yuke’s Osaka and published by THQ has surpassed 3.5 million sales worldwide since its release last May.

THQ will release its fiscal 2010 third quarter results tomorrow evening and ahead of the results, THQ said that UFC 2009 Undisputed had reached ‘Platinum Hits’ and ‘Greatest Hits’ status, meaning that it can be sold at a reduced price in new packagingon the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, respectively.

UFC President Dana White said, “UFC 2009 Undisputed opened the door for us to further share the UFC brand with videogame and fight fans around the world, and we cannot wait to return this spring with the release of UFC Undisputed 2010 on May 25, 2010.”

The game included 6 fight-styles: Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Wrestling. It was a success around the world and was critically acclaimed as well.

UFC Undisputed 2010 will release on May 25 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.
