First Bioshock 2 Reviews Are Strong

Bioshock 2 Reveling In Strong Reviews Ahead of Its Release Date

January 20, 2010 – The initial reviews for Bioshock 2, the highly anticipated return to the underwater city of Rapture, are starting to roll in. Xbox World 360’s latest issue delivers a ten-page review of the game replete with a 90% rating.

The review, which hit stands today, says that 2K Marin’s approach to the sequel is “every bit as engrossingly mysterious, if not more so” than that of Bioshock. The interview goes on to say that the two games are “as inseparable as Daddy and Sister”.

The review also clarifies that the multiplayer is unique and should establish a community of dedicated fans.

Two other reviews came out earlier this month. PC Gamer rewarded Bioshock with a 90% rating while PSM3 gave the game a 93.

Bioshock 2 takes place ten years after the events of Bioshock, which saw you survive a plane crash only to discover an underwater city that has crumbled into pieces. With themes borrowed from Ayn Rand, a stunning world to explore, unique biotic powers to wield and a captivating story, Bioshock won numerous Game of the Year Awards and is considered a classic of the past decade.

Bioshock 2 places you in the feet of the original Big Daddy, a protector of Little Sisters, genetically modified young girls who seek and retrieve ADAM, which allows the inhabitants of Rapture to modify their bodies with biotic powers. Bioshock 2 will take place in a Rapture that is quickly falling apart, and being a Big Daddy will allow you to escort Little Sisters and wander onto the ocean bottom.

Bioshock 2 was developed primarily by 2K Marin and will be published by 2K Games. It will be released on February 9 in North America.
