Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 In Your Pocket

Classic PS2 RPG Coming To PSP

January 20, 2010 – Atlas’ legendary series, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, is going to grace the 4.3 inch (or 3.8 inch depending on which version you have) screen of the Playstation Portable. This is the first game from the Persona series to be converted for a portable device. Persona 3 actually released for the Playstation 2 back in 2006, but fear not, Atlas confirms they’re doing more than just porting the game to the PSP.

Persona 3: Portable will introduce a new, female protagonist which will present a wholly new perspective on the story of the game as well as adding “dozens of hours of playability.” Persona 3 originally had easily over one hundred hours of gameplay, so adding dozens more will make this quite the lengthy portable game. Die-hard RPG lovers with a PSP handy rejoice.

Aram Jabbari, Atlas’ Manager of PR and Sales, had this to say about the game,

“Persona 3 introduced a revolutionary social element to role-playing games; players weren’t just progressing through a story; they were a part of it, and their decisions and the relationships they chose to foster or neglect became a powerful complement to the game’s satisfying combat. Persona 3 Portable takes everything that made Persona 3 such a tremendous, award-winning hit and translates it into the perfect handheld RPG experience.”
