Halo: Reach Trailer

Multiplayer Beta to Come in Spring of 2010

Halo: Reach was unveiled at the VGA’s on December 12. The trailer revealed footage made with the game’s engine. The trailer reveals what seems to be a much more powerful game engine and a world that is devoid of the bright colors and almost fanciful look of the previous Halo titles.

Halo: Reach is set to be a prequel to the Halo Trilogy. Taking place on the planet of Reach, which is the setting for massive army training facilities, including for the Operational Drop Shock Troopers, the game will tell the story of the Covenant attack on the last major human outpost, an invasion which turns a majority of the planet’s surface to molten glass following bombardments. It is unknown as of now whether Master Chief will make an appearance though it is known that he was on Reach during the attack. The general style of the game as well as the type of gameplay is unknown as well, though, if the trailer is any indication, we could be seeing a darker game in which humanity is clinging to little hope.

The Halo Trilogy as well as Halo: ODST and Halo Wars have sold more than 27 million copies worldwide and is a flagship of the Xbox console. Halo: Reach will be arriving in 2010, and a Multiplayer Beta will be coming in the Spring to people who purchased ODST.
