Leaked GameStop Placeholder Reveals, Confirms Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood

A leaked GameStop placeholder touting the ability to pre-order Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was sent in to Kotaku today and was later confirmed by Ubisoft to be authentic.

Though Ubisoft was reluctant to comment on the situation, they finally owned up to the authenticity of the placeholder, saying, “Ubisoft confirms the authenticity of this image and will provide more information next week.”

So, what can we expect to find out next week, when Ubisoft unveils more information about Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood? Well, the placeholder gives us a good idea what we will find in the final product.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, as is already known, will take place in Rome following the events of Assassin’s Creed 2. You will once again take control of Ezio. The cover of the placeholder shows Ezio surrounded by masked and shadowed assassin’s, who, most likely, are members of the brotherhood mentioned in the title and can be expected to aid Ezio and provide him with missions throughout the game.

The blurb on the back-cover of the placeholder says, “Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome.”

The statement continues, saying, “And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style.

“A never before-seen online multiplayer experience.

“Lead your own brotherhood of Assassin’s, as Ezio, and conquer Rome.”

So, will Ezio be taking down the Pope? We bet he will.

The cover of the placeholder also touts a downloadable multiplayer character available for those who pre-order the game – bets are on that its Altair.
