Green Day: Rock Band Arriving June 8

Harmonix announced today that Green Day: Rock Band will be arriving worldwide on June 8 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

The game will include 47 tracks from the band’s career including songs such as “Brain Stew,” “American Idiot,” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.” In addition, the press release revealed that all of the tracks will be exportable to other versions of Rock Band, including the just-announced Rock Band 3. Exporting the tracks will cost $9.99 but will be free to do with a pre-order of the title.

The game will be much like The Beatles: Rock Band. It will follow the career of Green Day from their humble beginnings in the late 1980s and early 1990s to their breakout success with “Dookie” to today’s fame and fortune via “American Idiot” and “21st Century Breakdown.”

The standalone game will retail for $59.99 for the Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3 and $49.99 for the Wii. A special edition, billed as Green Day: Rock Band Plus will be available for the Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3 for $69.99 and will include special packaging, free export of tracks and six Green Day DLC tracks. There was no mention of a full band bundle that includes the entire Rock Band suite of instruments.
