Visceral Working on XBLA, PSN Games

Visceral Games, developer of Dante’s Inferno and Dead Space, is working on several unannounced titles for Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network.

According to Visceral’s General Manager, Nick Earl, the company has “smaller efforts under way and direct-to-consumer efforts on XBLA and PSN.” He goes on to say that, “I think we’ll have some interesting offerings over this year and next that show our confidence in the space [smaller XBLA and PSN efforts].”

The interview, which can be read in its entirety at Gamasutra, seems to hint at the recently rumored Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network ports of Dead Space: Extraction and Planet Cracker, which is rumored to be a resource management game. Dead Space: Extraction was a critically acclaimed rail shooter for the Wii which sold poorly, as have most third-party titles on the platform.

Expect news about the exact nature of the Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network titles to be revealed in the coming weeks after Earl’s exclusive interview. We’ll keep you posted on any developments as Visceral plows ahead with these Arcade titles as well as Dead Space 2, which is scheduled for release Q4 Fiscal 2011.
