Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Demo Download 3.5 Million Times

Today EA announced that the demo of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been downloaded 3.5 million times. That’s a whole lot of online gaming.

Last week, EA announced that the demo was on pace to become the fastest downloaded EA demo in history and it seems to be chugging along like an unstoppable train as its release date nears. The title, which will offer a vast single player campaign that spans through North and Central America, is shaping up to be a more mature and awe-inspiring offering while the multiplayer will offer incredible mayhem on large, destructible maps.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been developed with the Frostbite Engine, which allows for buildings to literally be blown apart. As a result, battles are genuinely frantic as cover falls apart and tanks wreak disaster upon opposing armies. So far, reviews of the multiplayer component are glowing and Game Informer has rewarded the game with a 9.5, suggesting great things to come for EA.

Combine the enthusiastic crowd of demo downloaders with a pending release date and day-one DLC and EA has a massive hit on their hands. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been developed by DICE and will be published by EA. It is scheduled for release on March 2 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
