We begin, today, with the Most Anticipated PS3 Titles of 2010.2009 was a huge success for Sony thanks to the high number of quality games that were released. Now that ’09 is coming to an end, it is time to look forward to 2010 and figure out what will be on our pre-order list at our favorite local gaming retailer. The list of games releasing in 2010 is long. Very long. And it hasn’t been easy deciding which ten games belong on the ‘most anticipated list’.

Army of Two: The 40th Day

The first Army of Two title introduced gamers to a co-op playing style that was unique and entertaining. The two main characters, Elliot and Tyson, were quick and witty, and damn good shots (albeit only if you were). “The 40th Day” follows them once again and this time they are going to Shanghai. So pair up with your favorite buddy and be sure to check this out.

7. The Agency

The Gran Turismo series has been around a long time, and the next full installment of the game set for release in early 2010 shouldn’t disappoint GT fans. 4. M.A.G.

M.A.G.

The year is 2020. A global crisis looms. Food shortages spark riots, currencies plummet, fuel reserves dwindle, and oil-producing nations begin to ration what remains. It is a dark future. Governments earmarked money for humanitarian efforts, overseas security, and intelligence services which, over time, finds its way to the coffers of a small group of Private Military Companies (PMCs). These three private armies (Valor, Raven, and S.V.E.R.) have begun to recruit aggressively. Soldiers without a country, the contractors fight wars that never happened. This is the nature of the Shadow War.

This is where you come in. Choose a PMC and go to war with up to 256 live players. With up to 128 players on each team, this game guarantees a fast paced, bullet ridden, game style that no other online game has matched to-date. Go ahead and award M.A.G “Online Game of the Year” 365 days early.

3. The Last Guardian

The Last Guardian

Ever since the leak of the first in-game video for this title, it was obvious that Team Trico, the developers, stayed true to their art/design aspect from their previous titles “Ico” and “Shadow of the Colossus”. The latest game from them will follow a young boy and his Griffon (a cross between a lion and an eagle) as they travel along. With puzzles and platforming intermingled with fighting and interactions between the boy and his stead, the game shouldn’t disappoint.

2. Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain
Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is a dark, immersive and emotionally-engaging experience; one that expands upon the innovative ideas of 2005’s acclaimed Fahrenheit to create a noir-thriller where decisions are charged with importance and actions can have drastic and unforseen consequences. Breaking with traditional game conventions where necessary, the gameplay will be based around story, emotional involvement and the player’s decisions and interactions, rather than high-scores, combat and competition. Intuitive gameplay and controls are also fundamental to the experience – ensuring that the game is mature but accessible, and avoiding alienating players with obscure stats and complex interfaces.

In Heavy Rain you don’t watch the story – you play it. The dynamic narrative unfolds through the players actions – not cut scenes – and every action has a consequence. The choices you make and the way you interact with other characters have repercussions throughout the storyline. With unprecedented responsibility over the fates of the game’s characters, players will find Heavy Rain an emotional experience unlike any other. It dares to tackle subject matter and themes rarely touched upon in video games, making it a genuinely mature game for a new world of adult gamers.
