Red Dead Redemption was easily the king of May according to the NPD.
The game, developed by Rockstar San Diego, pulled in more than 900,000 sales in the month on the Xbox 360 and more than 500,000 on the PlayStation 3, leveling both versions at #1 and #2 on the NPD charts, respectively.
Coming in at third was Super Mario Galaxy 2, which was just behind the PlayStation 3 version of Red Dead Redemption.
Unfortunately for fans of racing games, neither Blur nor Split/Second fared very well. Blur pulled a measly 31,000 sales in its first week on the market while Split/Second managed just over 80,000.
Alan Wake was also a disappointment despite strong sales and solid reviews. The game managed to sell 145,000 units solely on the Xbox 360 after coming out in the middle of the month.
Red Dead Redemption should see sales improving even further into the millions thanks to a strong June as well, with NPDs results expected later this month.
