Sony Trademarks ‘PlayStation Move’

The ongoing drama over the name race for the PlayStation Motion Controller continues to escalate, and Vegas odds-makers just don’t know what to do about it.

Yesterday, Sony filed a European trademark for use with a control device. The trademarked name: PlayStation Move. Sounds to me like an excellent title for a motion controller. In addition to the trademarked name, Sony supposedly trademarked a logo for the PlayStation Move as well. The logo, which looks suspiciously like an A, (or maybe, three-quarters of an M if we’re squinting?) was dug up by NeoGAF user gofreak. While the logo hasn’t been verified, gofreak also dug up the original PlayStation Home logo back in the day – so his sources seem to be straight.

Sony is holding it’s GDC event tonight, so the Vegas oddsmakers better get on top of their odds. I’m going with Move, it just sounds better than Arc or Gem. We’ll keep you posted if we hear any confirmation of the name or the logo. The thickness of our wallets depend on it.
