The third DLC package for THQ and Gearbox Software’s Borderlands arrives today. The DLC, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, features a raised level cap, improvements to the enemy AI, new villains, a host of new weapons and vehicles and huge new areas to explore.
While it’s been known for a while that The Secret Armory of General Knoxx was coming in the near future, 2K only announced yesterday that the DLC would be available today on the Xbox 360. PlayStation 3 owners have a couple of days to prepare for its arrival, as they will get the game on February 25. The DLC will set gamers back 800 Microsoft Points and $9.99 on PSN.
The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is an expansion pack that seems to be a love letter to the millions of fans who have picked up the game – a reward for their investment. Sure, it costs nearly ten bucks, but the amount of content is impressive. The level cap will raise from 50 to 61. There will be new, extremely rare and powerful weapons and among several vehicles added to the game, one that will allow all four players to ride at the same time. In addition, there will be 30 new villains and with the tweaked AI, they will be more difficult to fight and kill.
The game world will be roughly twice the size of that added by The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. Borderlands fans, eat your hearts out.
