More Call of Duty 7 Details Revealed

A Hollywood casting call looking for voice actors has revealed numerous details about Call of Duty 7. The ad says that it is looking for a voice actor to play the part of Frank Barnes, the lead character, who is a World War II veteran commanding an elite Vietnam unit.

Barnes is described as a “fiercely patriotic veteran of WW2…A solid leader possessed with an excellent ability to assess and respond to any situation quickly and decisively.” Barnes will lead the Studies and Observation Group, which was a real-life special ops unit that conducted cover operations in Vietnam against the Viet Cong. According to numerous websites, the SOG recruited personnel from the Green Berets, Navy SEALS and other elite military units to perform highly classified operations in not only Vietnam but in neighboring countries as well.

According to the ad, some of the other characters in the game will be Joseph Lewis, a “very physically fit” black man in his 20s; Jason Hudson, a white man in his 30s who has compiled a history of “over 15 years of military experience, making him an excellent tactician and mission co-coordinator; and Kirstina Ivanova. Ivanova is a Russian-born martial arts expert and CIA operative who is “calm to the point of being cold and detached.”

Call of Duty 7 is scheduled to be released in November and is being developed by Treyarch, who developed Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War. It was confirmed earlier this year that it would take place in Vietnam. It’s interesting to note the inclusion of a female character in the game as well as the shift from conventional warfare settings to one in which the main characters are cover operatives. Call of Duty 7 may include many more infiltration missions such as the Chernobyl mission from Modern Warfare and the mountain top mission in Modern Warfare 2.
