StarCraft II Beta Test Is Officially Live

Just hours after we reported that Blizzard had posted the official system requirements for the StarCraft II closed beta, the game went live online. Lucky gamers who were selected for the closed beta are now able to experience the thrill of a new StarCraft game more than a full decade after the release of StarCraft, the genre-defining RTS game from Blizzard Entertainment.

According to Blizzard, thousands of invitations have been sent out and the new and improved Battle.net is now up-and-running.

Of course, if you have yet to sign up for the beta, you still can and you can hope that Blizzard will select you and give you access to the game. You should check out the system requirements before you sign up, to make certain that your computer is up to scratch and then all you can do is cross your fingers and pray. We aren’t kidding. We’re fairly certain that ALL of Korea signed up for the beta, so you’ve got some stiff competition ahead of you for a beta invitation.

If you did get in, let us know what you think of the experience. Is it everything you hoped for? Has Blizzard done it again?
