Battlefield: Bad Company 2 On Pace To Become Fastest Downloaded Demo in EA History

DICE Announces That Over 2 Million Demos Have Been Downloaded in First Five Days

February 11, 2010 – Today DICE, the development studio behind Battlefield: Bad Company 2 announced that the game’s demo is on pace to become the fastest downloaded demo in EA history.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the latest in the long-running, highly successful Battlefield game series that has transported players to situations as diverse as World War II, Vietnam, future battlefields and present-day scenarios. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 wants to compete against Modern Warfare 2, with developer DICE claiming that the game delivers a far superior online experience in addition to aiming to create a truly stunning single player game as well.

Bad Company 2 stands out from the competition with help from the Frostbite Engine, which allows almost wholly destructible environments, which makes for a chaotic battle zone.

The game’s demo, which was released January 28 for the Xbox 360 and February 4 for the PlayStation 3 system, allows players to compete on multiplayer maps getting a feel for the game before its March 2 release date.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to hear that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is already in the hands of almost 2½ million gamers, and it hasn’t even shipped yet,” said Patrick Bach, Senior Producer. “This massive rush to experience the game early is proof positive that action gamers are looking for more. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 delivers on every front. This is intelligent, strategic warfare that our competitors simply cannot replicate.”
