Square Enix Europe Trademarks Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Could This Be Deus Ex 3?
February 9, 2010 – Square Enix Europe has trademarked Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The trademark indicates that perhaps Square Enix Europe, which was formerly Eidos, is moving towards a full reveal of the game, which most likely is Deus Ex 3.
Two years ago, Eidos released a teaser trailer for Deus Ex 3 and since then little to nothing has been seen or heard about the game. But, the theme of the teaser trailer, which can be seen below, strongly indicates that Human Revolution would be an appropriate title for Deus Ex 3.
The Deus Ex series has seen its share of ups-and-downs. Deus Ex, released in 2000, won numerous Game of the Year awards across the PC gaming industry and was hailed as a revolutionary RPG. Deus Ex: Invisible War, on the other hand, was considered a letdown. The direct sequel to Deus Ex, Invisible War offered a wide variety of paths for gamers to pursue but was considerably simplified in comparison to the first game and was much shorter.
Deus Ex 3 has been in development for several years and if Human Revolution is that game, hopefully we’ll be seeing it appear soon.
