Madden NFL 10 Simulation Sees Saints Defeat Colts 35-31 in Super Bowl XLIV
February 3, 2010 – Running a simulation on the Xbox 360, EA Sports Madden NFL 10 predicted that the New Orleans Saints will defeat the Indianapolis Colts 35-31 in Super Bowl XLIV.
EA Sports’ Madden series of football games have predicted the winner of the Super Bowl in 5 of the last 6 years. The press release issued by EA also declared the accuracy of Madden NFL 10 in predicting the NFC and AFC Championship games this year, declaring “Madden NFL 10 was able to accurately predict the outcome of both the NFC and AFC Championship games within a margin of three points for each game.”
In addition, EA Sports touted that Madden NFL 09 was able to exactly predict the result of Super Bowl XLIII between the Steelers and the Cardinals. Madden NFL 09‘s simulation of last year’s Super Bowl was accurate in the score and player statistics. Freaky!
According to the press release, the New Orleans Saints will win their first Super Bowl by a score of 35-31. The Colts will go on top, according to the simulation, with several minutes left in the game but Drew Brees of the Saints “will hit David Thomas for an 11-yard touchdown and the game winning score.” Drew Brees won the MVP honors in the Super Bowl simulation.
The Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, February 7 in Miami. It is the most watched event on American television each year.
Madden NFL 10 is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, iPhone, PSP and PlayStation 2.
