New Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Phoenix Coming to Rock Band Next Week

Six New Tom Pretty & The Heartbreakers Tracks, French Band Phoenix Makes Debut

January 15, 2010 – Six new Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers tracks will be added to Rock Band next week, and the French rock band, Phoenix, will be making their Rock Band debut via new, downloadable tracks.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers spawned numerous worldwide hits include “Free Falling,” “Last Dance with Mary Jane,” and “Waiting is the Hardest Part”. Their music is known around the world and they have been one of the most loved and respected bands in the world since their debut in 1976. The release of six new tracks coincides with the release of their new album, “The Live Anthology,” a box set that includes tracks from 30 years of concerts.

Phoenix has been around for many years. Founded in Versailles, just outside of Paris, the band has been playing together since they were children and share influences with Daft Punk and Air. While they have been well known in Europe for years, they recently have gained lots of attention in North America with the release of their critically-acclaimed album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.

The tracks will be available on January 19 for the Xbox 360 and Wii and January 21 on the PS3.
