Final Fantasy Creator to Release “Blockbuster” and iPhone Game in 2010

New Year’s Announcement Hints at Major New Game

January 2, 2010 The RPG guru has announced new games for 2010. Hironobu Sakaguchi, who founded the company Mistwalker upon his resignation from Square-Enix in 2004, broke the news in a “Happy New Year” message on the Mistwalker website.

“Happy New Year. 2010 is the year of my long-awaited new blockbuster project. I’m putting my heart and soul into this production. I’m taking a full swing and making this the best project. Oh, by the way, we are also working on a project for iPhone. This should be released soon as well. We will put our efforts together and do our best!

I’m sure you’ll love it.”

Seeing as this is the guy who brought us Xenogears, supervised Chrono Trigger, and created the most popular RPG franchise of all time in Final Fantasy, I’m sure we will.

Mistwalker is hush-hush on the details for now, so check back here for all the latest updates.
