Red Dead Redemption Release Date Revealed

Western Themed Game from Rockstar To Debut on April 27, 2010 – New Trailer Also Released

Rockstar Games announced today that their open-world western, Red Dead Redemption, will be released on April 27, 2010 in North America and April 30, 2010 internationally in addition to releasing a new trailer. According to Rockstar Games Founder Sam Houser, Red Dead Redemption is “our vision of the American West: beautiful, bloody and action-packed. The game is a true epic, and has been developed with the same production values and attention to detail we put into all our projects. Red Dead Redemption represents another milestone for us in the development of open world games.”

In Red Dead Redemption players will take on the role of John Marston, a former outlaw, who, blackmailed by the government is forced to travel across the wide-open western United States in search of members of his former gang. With his family’s lives at stake, John will wander into a world where he must deal with criminals, corrupt officials and settlers struggling to survive in the desert Southwest and the mountains along the Mexican border. The game has been built on the RAGE engine, which powered GTA IV and Rockstar’s Table Tennis.

Along with the reveal of the game’s release date, Rockstar also released a new trailer, titled “My Name is John Marston”. The trailer is intended for mature audiences of 18 and up, and can be seen below.
