Modern Warfare 2 DLC Due In Spring 2010

Tweet Hints At “Wonderfully Vague” DLC Arrival

Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward, posted on his Twitter account on November 25, “DLC is planned for the wonderfully vague time frame of Spring. I’ll let you know when we know when it’ll be done.”

Details have yet to be released on what the downloadable content will consist of, but it can almost be assured that there will be new multiplayer maps. We will be posting any updates on the announcement as soon as they are released.

Modern Warfare 2 DLC Will Be Arriving In The Spring of 2010

Modern Warfare 2 has been a massive hit, selling millions of copies in its first week and raking in US $550 million so far for publisher Activision-Blizzard. The game, telling the story of a Russian terrorist whose actions incite a massive war between the U.S. and Russia on American soil has been critically acclaimed for its engaging story, stunning setpieces, and addictive multiplayer.

Any DLC that is released for Modern Warfare 2 is expected to reap millions more of revenue for Activision-Blizzard, as noted by Broadpoint AmTech analyst Ben Schachter, who said that, “we estimate that Activision will generate at least USD 100-140 million in gross revenue from Call of Duty DLC in 2010.”
