Final Dates for PlayStation Mobile Support Sent Out in Latest Email

PlayStation Mobile fans must prepare for the end of the service

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) has announced that PlayStation®Mobile (PSM) will cease distribution of new content in-app on July 15, 2015. Purchase via browser and re-download of purchased content will be discontinued on September 10, 2015. In addition, “PlayStation®Mobile for Android,” which allows you to access PSM content on a variety of PlayStation®Certified devices, will be unavailable for download after September 10, 2015.

You will still be able to access PSM content you have purchased and downloaded on up to three devices activated before September 10, 2015. Devices that are deactivated after September 10, 2015, will no longer be able to play purchased and downloaded PSM content. Refunds will not be provided for lost PSM content.

When will PlayStation Mobile become unavailable?

From July 15th 2015:

  • Users will not be able to purchase PlayStation Mobile content.
  • New games will no longer be released.

After September 10th 2015:

  • In-app purchases will be discontinued.
  • Re-download of previously purchased content will be discontinued.
  • PlayStation Mobile app for Android will be unavailable for download.
  • PlayStation Mobile content can no longer be purchased via web browser from the content website.

What happens to my previously purchased PlayStation Mobile games?

You must activate your devices by September 10th so that you can keep playing your PlayStation Mobile games. Previously, content was automatically authenticated whenever the device connected to the internet, but this will not happen after September 10th.

Don’t forget that you cannot re-download games after this date, so make sure you download all the games you want to keep. Provided you activate each of your devices once during this window you will be able to continue to play your PlayStation Mobile content. You can activate a maximum of three devices.

We would like to sincerely thank our dedicated PlayStation fans for supporting PSM. For more details on the closure, please go here.
