Free-to-Play Stealth Bastard Racks up 10,000 Users in its First Weekend

Free stealth platformer from Curve Studios exceeds expectations with THREE YEARS of cumulative play in four days! Full details, plus screenshots, download link and the launch video, after the jump.

Curve Studios, the independent developer behind the critically-acclaimed WiiWare smash Hydroventure/Fluidity and the retro-styled PSN platformer Explodemon! (now on PC too!), has released its next title: a freeware PC game called Stealth Bastard.

Amazingly for a studio with a low profile in the indie PC scene, the game has attracted over 10,000 registered users (or ‘Bastards’) in its first four days of release – and those Bastards have cumulatively played the game for almost three years. That’s a LOT of swearing.

(They’ve also died a whopping 305,635 times – we’d say we’re sorry, but we’d be lying.)

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the viral success of SB and are hoping many more people will get the chance to be a bastard during the coming weeks,” said Jason Perkins, Managing Director of Curve Studios. “We’re now starting to see some fantastic reviews, and hearing great things back from players who are genuinely enjoying the game.”

If you haven’t downloaded the game yet… what are you waiting for? Go to  and get it now!
