ScholarGamers.com and Kitara Join Forces to Provide Scholarships Through Online Games

Innovative game platform ScholarGamers.com and media marketing company Verge Games, the game division of Kitara Media, have partnered to introduce the ScholarGamers community to Verge Game’s portfolio of fun, free online games. More details after the jump.

The alliance significantly expands the game offerings for students competing for scholarship money at ScholarGamers.com. In the form of a sponsored game page, Verge Game’s catalog of online games encompasses classic themed games and new titles alike, including Montris, the Tetris style classic game.

Scholargamers.com is excited to join with Verge Games in a win-win-win arrangement for all parties—helping us build our audience, expanding Verge Game’s access to this coveted demographic and enhancing the experience for our users,” said Angelo Tartaro, CEO and Founder of ScholarGamers.com. “Moreover, we’re pleased to partner with another organization that recognizes the potential for marrying purpose and play.”

Launched in November, ScholarGamers.com offers a novel solution to escalating educational costs by giving students 13 and above an opportunity to win scholarships via a free flash game competition.  The concept has met with overwhelming support from students, parents and educators.

“Verge Games is very proud of this partnership and we believe ScholarGamers.com is a unique and valuable concept bringing positive results to our community and we’re pleased to be providing our library of games,” said Robert Regular, President of Kitara Media, the parent of Verge Games.

Scholargamers.com will continue to provide its own branded, site locked flash games for use in competition, and has formalized a deal with independent studio Hard Circle to help develop and sponsor a series of new titles within a year.
