Zombies Invading the PSN With Deadnation November 30th

The much anticipated zombie shooter finally gets a release date, and you’ll want to get this game. More info after the jump.

From the developer of the popular and successful Super Stardust HD, comes another action packed blaster – this time the infectious gameplay is more gruesome.  Housemarque has thrown essence of Super Stardust HD into a zombie filled post-apocalyptic universe.  Sometime in the not-too-distant future, imagine yourself in a deserted city, the streets are run down and many of the shops are derelict.  There is a cold winter’s chill and things are eerily quiet…until you hear a strange sounding groan and then all of a sudden out of nowhere you are surrounded by dirt ridden shambling corpses.

A deadly virus is once again sweeping the globe, infecting everyone in its path and killing off almost all the human race.  To the horror of the survivors, the dead have begun rising from the grave, hell-bent on feeding on the living and wiping out mankind for good.  But, just as it seems all is lost, a small pocket of survivors emerges, determined to take back the world from the undead.

You are one of these survivors.  Armed to the teeth and totally outnumbered, you’re the last hope of discovering a cure for the virus and saving humanity.  Just remember to lock, load, and aim for the brain!

KEY FEATURES:

GLOBAL ZOMBIE INFECTION STATUS MAP – Track your zombie kills with the daily online world map aggregating the scores of players from all around the globe.

HIGHLY ADVANCED ZOMBIE A.I. – The “smartest” zombies you’ve ever encountered, these zombies lurk in the shadows and perform surprise attacks, drop down from higher surroundings (buildings, balconies, etc.) right on top of you, and even try to grab you behind or through fences.

ZOMBIE BODY PILES – The most on-screen zombies in a video game to date.  If you spot one wandering zombie, it’s more than likely that 30 or more zombies are sure to follow.

STARDUST DNA – Taking the same engine that was used to make Super Stardust HD we have flattened out the globe, added rag doll physics, real time lighting, a fantastic amount of blood and much more!

META GAME – Don’t just save yourself, help to save the world!  Every disgusting, waste of space, rotting flesh bag you kill will count towards helping to clear the virus in your country.  Watch as you unlock extra content whilst your country bravely fights its way to freedom!

TONE AND THEME – Dark and gritty, Dead Nation is a scary, fierce and intense Story where brains, tactics and the ability to execute them are the difference between life and death.

ONLINE CO-OP – Dead Nation features 2-player online and offline coop.  Team up with a buddy and have someone there to cover your back!

TIPS FROM THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM:

  • Things can get very tough out there…brain dead isn’t as easy as it sounds!
  • Upgrade your weapons, and use them wisely.  The rifle is your friend (particularly the powershot), ignore it at your peril!  SMG is great against large weak hordes.
  • Secondary weapons will save your bacon more often than anything else…just remember to use them.  The mines are great once leveled up.
  • Tactics are the most important thing to get thorough the level unharmed…use your brain and take advantage of everything at your disposal, cars and vending machines are great examples of this.

Deadnation will be releasing November 30th for the US for $14.99 and December 1st for those of you across the pond for  €12.99 / £9.99. Look for our review of the game shortly.
