UK Fans Crown Uncharted 2 “Greatest PlayStation Game Ever”

UK PlayStation gamers have named Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves as the greatest Sony PlayStation game ever – narrowly beating the classic Metal Gear Solid to the top-spot. We reviewed the game back when it released and gave it a perfect score.

The poll was carried out to jointly celebrate the 15th anniversary of the first Sony PlayStation console in the UK and the 50th issue of Future’s Official PlayStation Magazine.

The US developed Uncharted 2: Among Thieves went on sale in late 2009 for the PlayStation 3 console and was awarded 10/10 in Official PlayStation Magazine.  In the poll of gamers, it beat Metal Gear Solid, Konami’s 1998 PlayStation title and Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII top the honour, in a poll which saw thousands of votes cast.

“Since it came out in late 2009 we’ve maintained that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the best game not just on PS3 but every console around, so it was little surprise to see our readers vote it the number one PlayStation game of all time. It has everything you could want from an action-adventure, and then some: An engaging story full of cinematic twists, a charismatic and funny lead character, brilliant voice acting, masses of clever gameplay ideas, and a host of strong multiplayer modes. It’s the complete videogame, and much deserving of the top spot.”
