Battlefield 3 Most Likely Not At gamescom

Battlefield 3, it seems, won’t be on display at gamescom later this month in Cologne, Germany.

EA strongly suggested today that the game, which is currently in development by DICE, won’t be at the show in order to allow the development team to focus on creating the product.

“Battlefield 3 is one of the most anticipated games in the world, and we want to give the dev team as much time and privacy to craft the game without disturbing them with marketing/PR.

“In the meantime, everyone is excited to launch MOH and we hope you’ll play that beta and enjoy that game this fall.”

The discussion from EA came after prodding from VG247, who wanted to see if there was any Battlefield 3 news in the wake of last week’s revelation that purchasers of the Medal of Honor Limited Edition (note the misleading title, because Limited actually means normal) would gain access to the Battlefield 3 beta, which will arrive sometime in the next year.

Will we see Battlefield 3 at gamescom? Probably not, but Medal of Honor’s shaping up to be just the game to while away the time while waiting for Battlefield 3. It’s looking great.
