Valve announced today that Portal 2 will be arriving this Holiday season. The announcement coincided with Game Informer’s reveal that their April issue will feature a 12-page article on Portal 2. The reveal from Valve and the cover image from Game Informer (which can be seen after the break) provide us with something to look forward to in April, as this long-awaited sequel begins to see the light.

The Game Informer cover states: “Aperture Science returns for the people who are still alive.” The image shows an open portal that leads to a crumbling facility surrounded by heavy vegetation that spills into an Aperture Science laboratory.

Portal, released in 2007, was a part of The Orange Box, which contained not only Portal but also Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and 2. It was a stunning package that won multiple industry awards, and the most shocking aspect of the compilation was the extraordinary, mind-bending puzzler, Portal.
