The demo for Just Cause 2 will arrive on March 4th for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms. The demo will feature a gigantic explorable area of 35 square miles. That expanse, twice the size of the world of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’s game world, will feature the Lautan Lama Desert, a “vast expanse of stunning, sun-scorched scenery taking up just one of the many islands in the 400 square miles of the Panau archipelago.”
The demo island will feature towns, villages, military installations, mountain ranges and missions. In addition, gamers will be able to use numerous vehicles including tuk tuks, military 4×4’s, armored vehicles, mopeds, helicopter gunships, light aircraft, mini vans and much more. The demo will also include the ability to assassinate one of the game’s 50 military colonels and it will include a full, multi-stage missions that in which the player will traverse the mountains to a heavily fortified government radar station ending in “an unforgettable desert car chase.”
Lee Singleton, General Manager of Square Enix London Studios said in a press release statement, “The Just Cause 2 demo is simply massive and with so much to do, the replay value is enormous. It’s easily one of the biggest freeroaming demos of all time and for fans of openworld games, it’s unmissable.”
Just Cause 2 will be available on March 23 in North America and March 26 in Europe for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360. The demo will be available via PSN, Steam and Xbox LIVE on March 4 around the world.
