New Super Mario Bros. Wii Exceeds Ten Million Sales

Talk About Big Sales Numbers…

January 25, 2010 – Nintendo’s New Super Mario Bros. Wii has surpassed ten million sales worldwide. This comes on the heels of news that the game had recently surpassed Super Mario Galaxy, 2007’s initial outing of Mario on the Wii, in sales.

According to the latest sales numbers, over 3 million copies were sold in Japan and 3 million were sold in Europe followed by more than 4.5 million unit sales in North America.

The Nintendo Wii has been a powerhouse throughout this generation of gaming consoles, reaching a wide audience appeal that previously hadn’t been accessed by the gaming industry. Several Wii titles have sold more than twenty million copies, and the sales figures for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which only went on sale in November, are impressive to say the least. It appears that, in the new year, New Super Mario Bros. Wii could continue to sell extremely well and eventually surpass the twenty million mark as well.
