Terminal Gamer’s 2009 Awards – Strategy Game of the Year

Terminal Gamer’s Strategy Game of the Year Is…

Empire: Total War

Empire: Total War was 2009’s top strategy game.

Combining fantastic graphics with deep trade, diplomacy, and excellent battle action, Empire: Total War was a stunning addition to the Total War series and stood head and shoulders above all other strategy titles released in 2009. The game focused on historical conflicts from the 18th century, including the Revolutionary War, and also featured stunning, real-time naval battles that put you in the wars and asked you to make the difficult decisions required to defeat your opponents. On top of a great single player game, Empire: Total War offered excellent multiplayer options that only added to its value.

Empire: Total War isn’t just a great strategy game, it is one of the best strategy games to come along in a long time.

Runners up: A Boy and His Blob, Little King’s Story

Also ran: Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, Plants vs. Zombies
