Red Dead Redemption Gameplay Trailer

Red Dead Redemption gameplay trailer provides a first look at the game in action

Yesterday, December 15, Rockstar released a gameplay video for Red Dead Redemption, the first to highlight the gameplay in the western, sandbox-style game.

Red Dead Redemption follows John Marston, a former outlaw, who, settled down with a wife and children, finds himself back out west again, hunting outlaws, including a former gang member of his. The game takes place in a large gaming world developed using Rockstar’s RAGE graphics engine, the same engine used to power GTA IV. The game world will include mountains and canyons, prairies and wild west towns. Beginning in 1908, the game will follow not only Marston’s attempts to round up outlaws, it will also take place during the events of the Mexican Revolution in 1910.

The gameplay video below is the first true look at Red Dead Redemption, which is being developed by Rockstar San Diego, and which will be released on April 27, 2010.
