Red Dead Redemption Pre-Order DLC

Gamers Who Preorder Red Dead Redemption Will Receive Exclusive DLC Content

Rockstar Games has announced that that they are teaming up with GameStop to offer exclusive content to who ever pre-orders their next big game: Red Dead Redemption.

Red Dead Redemption is the sequel to 2004’s Red Dead Revolver, a third person shooter, set in western times.

The goods: Gamers who pre-order the game will be able to vote for one of three challenges to win in game outfits. The outfits that they win will affect how the world of Red Dead Redemption regards the player.

Alex Moulle-Berteaux, head of marketing for Rockstar Games thinks that it will attract a large number of players, saying, “We’re privileged to have fans that are just as passionate about our games as we are.Having fans choose their own pre-order bonus is a unique way to let them be a part of Red Dead Redemption.”

That’s one inventive way to get fans hyped up…maybe we will be seeing this more often in the games to come. What fuels players to pre-order is just to get a game first, but what if publishers could integrate more in game goodies like with Red Dead Redemption? It’s being tested out with God of War III, as well, in which Gamestop, Game Crazy and Amazon are all offering a DLC code when preordering God of War III, which will allow the gamer to download the God of War III demo.

Red Dead Redemption will be released on April 27, 2010 in North America and will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
