New Prince of Persia Game Arriving in 2010

New Prince of Persia Title Coming in 2010

We all know about the upcoming film adaption of Prince of Persia: Sands of time (coming May 2010). What you may not know is that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will be released alongside the film.

The film version of Prince of Persia, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, will follow the storyline of Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time, in which the Vizier of the Maharajahtricked the Prince into releasing the Sands of Time, which turned the world’s inhabitants into monsters. Fighting his way through the monsters, the Prince sought to reunite the Sands of Time with their hourglass, returning the world to what it used to be. Teamed with the beautiful Farah, the Prince manages to turn back the sands of time and defeat the evil Vizier. The game featured the ability to turn back time, so if the Prince fell to his death or, surrounded by enemies, succumbed to their attacks, it was possible to rewind time and avoid making mistakes.

Ubisoft hasn’t provided many details about their next project in the Prince of Persia series. What is known is that the game will be released on both consoles and handhelds and that Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot says the game will target both the hardcore and the more casual gamer.

“The goal is to reach both audiences, the core and casual gamers. It will be a game that will have lots of combat, with the possibility for gamers that are not as good – a level for beginners. In that sense we are trying to cover both groups.”
