Today, Ubisoft announced the partnership with Ndamukong Suh of the Detroit Lions at this year’s Gumball 3000 rally in promotion of the highly anticipated video game, Driver® San Francisco. More details after the jump.
Suh, the National Football League’s 2010 Defensive Rookie of the Year, will drive a custom-wrapped 2011 Dodge® Challenger through more than 10 countries as a celebrity participant in this year’s race.
“Since I’m temporarily unemployed, I need to find ways to keep my competitive juices flowing, so I’ve partnered with Ubisoft and their Driver San Francisco video game to race a car in the Gumball 3000,” said Ndamukong Suh. “I think my racing style will be similar to that of Driver, exploring the open-world environment, but hopefully not damaging my car as much as I do when I play the game!”

Available this August on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Mac and Windows PC, Driver San Francisco will extend the cinematic car chase experience with a groundbreaking new gameplay feature called shift. As Detective John Tanner, players take part in a relentless manhunt for notorious crime lord Charles Jericho, racing through the hills of our City by the Bay. With over 130 licensed vehicles showcased in San Francisco’s timeless setting, refined handling and a renewed playability, Driver San Francisco is set to revitalize the over-the-top car chase experience.
