Resident Evil 5 Comes To Games on Demand

Microsoft announced today that Resident Evil 5 and Beautiful Katamari are now ready for download via their Games on Demand service. The service allows gamers to download, from their comfort of their home, full Xbox 360 titles onto their hard drives.

Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009 and is the successor to the critically-acclaimed Resident Evil 4, which is considered to have revitalized the series and perfected third-person horror gameplay. Resident Evil 5 finds Chris Redfield partnered with Sheva Alomar in an African country that has been infected with a mysterious virus. The game features both the ability to play solo as well as with a partner controlling the other character. The co-op experience was highly praised but the single-player campaign was considered to have poor partner AI. Overall, though, Resident Evil 5 is considered to be an atmospheric, impressive title in the series, receiving an 86% average score from GameRankings.

Beautiful Katamari allows players to control a katamari to collect objects which cause it to grow. It was released in 2007 and was the first Katamari title to not be released on a Sony platform.

Resident Evil 5 costs $29.99 to download and requires 7 GB of hard-drive space. Beautiful Katamari is priced at $19.99 and requires 3 GB of hard-drive space.
