Report Says EA Will Be At Unveil Event January 27 To Show Off the Tablet’s Game Capabilities

January 21, 2010 – The Apple Tablet, which will be revealed on January 27, is entering the handheld gaming race.

A report in the Wall Street Journal says that Electronic Arts will have a significant presence at the reveal event in which, working with Apple, EA will “show off the tablet’s game capabilities.” EA, which has suffered through a dismal fiscal year despite releasing many highly praised new IPs such as Brutal Legend and Mirror’s Edge, is beginning to tune its focus on the growing mobile gaming platform market. EA’s The Sims 3 for the iPhone was the App’s store best-selling game in 2009.

The Apple Tablet will be a handheld but relatively large, touch-screen computer. Little else is known about the Apple Tablet except that it will apparently be a powerful gaming device that you can put in your pocket.
