First Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Screens

New Screens Offer First Glimpse at The Forgotten Sands

January 12, 2010 – New screens of the upcoming heavyweight title, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands have shown up on IGN. The three new screens look pretty. Really pretty. They show the prince fighting against skeletons, bursting through a vortex of sorts and staring a gigantic monster down.

The screens show that The Forgotten Sands will be a return to the winning formula of The Sands of Time and The Warrior Within after the last iteration, Prince of Persia, featured cel-shaded graphics and simplified gameplay. While easily accessible to a larger percentage of gamers, Prince of Persia was a vast departure from what gamers had come to expect of the Prince of Persia series. It seems that Ubisoft has taken criticism of the last game in the series to heart and will be presenting a platforming, action-packed experience just in time for the Prince of Persia movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

The Forgotten Sands will be the next game in the Sands of Time trilogy of games. It is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Montreal and will feature the same graphics engine, Anvil, that was used for Assassin’s Creed II. It is scheduled for release on May 11.
