Divine Edition to Retail for $59.99, Demo Released On PSN Today
Today, Visceral Games and EA announced that a “Divine Edition” of Dante’s Inferno would be a Playstation 3 exclusive. In addition, the demo of Dante’s Inferno was released today on PSN and will be released on Thursday, December 4 for the Xbox 360.
The Divine Edition will feature developer commentary, a digital art book by Wayne Barlowe, the Dante’s Inferno soundtrack, and a digital version of the epic poem that the game will be based upon, Dante Aligheri’s Inferno. Most notably, however, is the $59.99 retail price, ten dollars less than a normal special edition game usually costs.
Jonathan Knight, Executive Producer of Dante’s Inferno said, “We are thrilled to offer an exclusive game pack for PlayStation 3 gamers. The PlayStation platform has a long history of delivering AAA action/adventure games. Adding Dante’s Inferno to that rich catalogue is very exciting for the team. And with the demo now available on the PlayStation Network, players can finally get a taste of what awaits them in the full game on Feb 9th.”
Dante’s Inferno will tell the story of Dante, a crusader who returns home to Italy after war in the Middle East to discover that his true love, Beatrice, has been murdered, her soul kidnapped by Lucifer. Determined to rescue her soul, Dante travels to hell and must traverse the nine circles to reach her.
Dante’s Inferno is being produced by Visceral Games, creators of Dead Space, and will be published by Electronic Arts. It will be available on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 on February 9, 2010.
