Resident Evil 5: DLC Content and Gold Edition In The Works

Capcom Releases Details on Resident Evil 5 DLC Available This Winter, Including 2 New Episodes

Capcom released new information today about downloadable content for their massive popular game, Resident Evil 5. They revealed that two episodes will be released as DLC, the first of which will be titled “Lost In Nightmares” and will chronicle Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine as they make their way through Oswald Spencer’s mansion, as seen at the beginning of the game.

There is not much known about the second episode save for the fact that it will include a “Mercenary Reunion Mode” that will feature “8 new playable characters and weapons”

The list of announced DLC for Resident Evil 5, is, in chronological order:


  • “Lost in Nightmares” Episode: 2/17/10 (Xbox 360), 2/18/10 (PlayStation 3)
  • Costume Pack 1: 2/17/10 (Xbox 360), 2/18/10 (PlayStation 3)
  • Episode 2 (Title TBA): 3/3/10 (Xbox 360), 3/4/10 (PlayStation 3)
  • Costume Pack 2: 3/3/10 (Xbox 360), 3/4/10 (PlayStation 3)

Capcom has yet to officially release how much the DLC will cost, although it has been reported by Famitsu that each episode will cost around $5 (400 MS points) and the Costume packs will cost $2 (160 MS points).

Capcom also announced more good new today for gamers who do not have Xbox Live or PSN access and do not own Resident Evil 5: The “Gold Edition”, which will be a new edition of Resident Evil 5 that will include the full game and all of the DLC for $49.99. You should see the “Gold Edition” of the game on store shelves on March 9th for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
