Amazon Spells Out PS4 Pre-order Language

Pre-orders are selling like hotcakes all over the place for the PS4, and Amazon may have oversold their future launch inventory. Emails are being sent out by Amazon to clear up some confusion.

Details after the jump.

Amazon currently shows two different versions of the PS4 on their website, with one being unavailable. Both are priced the same, but only one is available for pre-order at this time. We received this email a little while ago and it clears up the situation, somewhat.

Dear Amazon.com Customer,

Thank you for pre-ordering the PlayStation 4. Yesterday we made a change to the name of the product by adding “Launch” and “Standard” editions, which may have caused confusion for some of our customers.

We are writing to confirm that you ordered the “Launch Edition,” which is Release-Day Delivery eligible. All other aspects of the two editions are identical.

You do not need to take any action or make any changes to your current order.

Also listed on this site is this info:

Product Alert:
The standard version of the PlayStation 4 is identical to the Launch Edition. Due to high demand, we cannot guarantee Release-Date Delivery on the standard version of the PlayStation 4. We will deliver the standard version of PlayStation 4 as close to its release date as possible.

With only a limited supply of PS4’s and a high demand of pre-orders, hopefully everyone that wants one will get one.

Stay tuned to our PS4 Launch Center for more details and to stay up to date.
