Dead Rising 2 Appearing at X10 Tomorrow

Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2 To Be Shown Off At X10

February 10, 2010 – Via Twitter, Capcom has confirmed that Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2 will be showcased at Microsoft’s X10 Event Tomorrow. X10, which will take place in San Francisco, is an opportunity for Microsoft to highlight upcoming games for their Xbox 360 platform and also to tout technology such as Project Natal, their motion-sensing controller.

The tweet from Capcom reads, “We’ll have new hotness (or decomposing hotness) on display for Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2 at X10 on Thursday.”

Dead Rising 2 is the sequel to the zombie-filled Dead Rising, which was critically and commercially successful and allowed players to roam freely throughout a Colorado shopping mall infested with zombies. The game allowed unparalleled freedom of weapon choice as the player could utilize almost anything in the game world from TVs to Benches to baseball bats and frying pans to eliminate zombie hordes while rescuing trapped civilians, battling psychopaths who have gone nuts in the calamity and uncovering how the zombie epidemic came to be. Dead Rising 2 will take place in a city similar to Las Vegas and will offer the same free-roaming ability and weapon choice, including some unique weapon customization.

Lost Planet 2 is expected to arrive on store shelves on May 18. While much of Lost Planet 2 has been shown off, including a new trailer highlighting the ability to have Marcus and Dom from Gears of War in the game, little has been shown of Dead Rising 2. The new information revealed should be exciting for fans and we’ll cover it as it happens tomorrow.
