Here at Terminal Gamer, we pride ourselves on being passionate about gaming. We love games. And we love writing, too. Being able to combine our passion for gaming and writing is an amazing experience. And we want you to take part in it. We are a small gaming site right now, but we have the ambition to grow big.
We aim to:
- Provide not only reviews, but previews, interviews, commentary, and news stories.
- Update our site throughout the day and night to provide our readers with relevant news in a new, engaging light.
- Provide insightful, engaging commentary and discussion on the gaming industry.
- Be ingenious, passionate, and fun. We want to have articles on everything from the newest GTA game to “that scene” in Modern Warfare 2 to “The Top Horror Games of All Time”. We aim to be diverse and exciting. And we want our writers to be diverse, exciting, passionate, and fun, as well.
The pay at Terminal Gamer doesn’t come in the form of dollars. We don’t have any. However, we can offer you free copies of games, the opportunity to be published, and the chance to take part in the growth of a dynamic, exciting website where your input matters.

We are currently looking to add staff members in the following positions:
Writer
We are looking for writers who are able to publish at least one article per day during the work week.
The subjects we are looking to have writers discuss are:
- News – We expect you to be able to find the hottest gaming news around the web. Finding the latest news may involve discovering a hot story on N4G, Gamespot, or IGN, but it also may involve coming across a hot piece of news that no one else has discovered by following developer websites on a daily basis. In addition, when writing about the news, we want our writers to be able to provide a fresh perspective on the story. Don’t just repeat the news, make it exciting and provocative. Think about why this news is important and what it means.
- Features – We don’t expect you to write a feature article every day. But, feature articles are an important part of building a website and a following. We want you to write the occasional feature article in which you pursue and write about a subject that’s important to you. Perhaps that’s trying to get an interview with Doug Lombardi at Valve, or maybe it’s writing a preview of Alan Wake. Features can be anything from an opinion piece on a game or on the gaming industry to a list of top games and funny moments to a countdown of the best and worst game-based films. Be creative, and have fun with your feature articles!
If you are able to dedicate the time to research and produce a short article per day and a feature article twice per month, send an e-mail to: jobs@terminalgamer.com with the subject line “Writer Position Application”. We will only consider applications that have two writing samples and a short (one or two paragraphs) cover letter explaining who you are and why you want to write for us.
