Lucas Arts is showing up in a big way for E3 this year. Two of its biggest franchises, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 and the soon to be launched Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO both released astounding cinematic trailers. The Old Republic in particular released a five plus minute trailer depicting the battle on Alderaan (yes that Alderaan), a battle which players will be able to take part in during the game. continue reading…

This after a long period where we saw entries in the more arcade style Need for Speed and Midnight Club series on pretty much a yearly basis.

Now, Bizarre Creations, the team behind one of those stalwart simulation series, the Project Gotham Series, is throwing its hat into the arcade ring, with Blur. Dubbed “powered up racing” Blur combines the high octane racing of an arcade street racer, with the competitive elements of Twisted Metal and Mario Kart. The result is an intense, gripping racing experience both online and off that commands attention. continue reading…

The epic adventure that was the Halo: Reach beta has come and passed, complete with unlocked modes along the way, and an extra day of gaming. It was blissful to return to a world of plasma-scarred landscapes and the beeping of replenishing shields. A world that felt oh-so-familiar, but strange and new at the same time. Though I probably could have put together a list of 10 or 15 important things to note, for sanity’s sake we’ll stick to five. continue reading…
