Want to be an honorary member of the 3rd Street Saints? Want to look as cool as Julius Little or Johnny Gat but not have to fight off the Vice Kings? We have in our possession a jacket that comes straight from 3rd Street in Sunnyvale Gardens, and will soon be available to the masses.

The big question is: Is it worth its price?

Read our review to find out.

Gamers love their games, and when someone loves something they want to show the world that they love it. T-shirts can be had just about anywhere for just about any video game you can think of, but when it comes to a quality product, t-shirts, hoodies and even jackets, they aren’t all that easy to find.

Clothing maker Insert Coin specializes in gaming related items and were nice enough to send us one of their upcoming releases (available for pre-order here) which is a jacket inspired by the original Saints Row game from 2006.

One does not need to know the story behind this cool purple jacket to appreciate the look and style it embraces, but knowing the story will probably be why most folks order one. Gamers who know the series will instantly recognize the fleur-de-lis emblem on a purple background and will know that you are sporting the colors of the 3rd Street Saints. The big question, though, is the jacket worthy of the colors it sports.

The first thing we noticed when we got the jacket was its weight. This isn’t some lightweight piece that wouldn’t keep you warm in October, but something that will actually keep you warm in mid-December in most climes. Maybe not sub-zero kind of cold, but easily in the upper 30’s and 40’s it should keep you pretty snug.

The inside liner is a plaid pattern with a purple inside pocket that seems to add to the weight of the jacket (good thing for colder folks). The design fits nicely with the purple color and the pocket is spacey enough for even the larger cellphones like the Galaxy S5. Plus you would look cool pulling out the phone and showing off that inside design.

Both the fleur-de-lis and the 3rd Street Saints logo look to be embroidered into the jacket so there should be no fear about either of them pulling off at some point. The overall quality of the jacket is pretty high and both logos are a testament to that quality. Me being a guy means that those pretty white sleeves will probably end up some grungy color eventually so the jacket being machine washable is a definite plus.

My only complaint is that it’s Summer here in Sacramento and the jacket doesn’t go well with triple digit temperatures (contrary to popular belief it does get hot in California). Maybe a trip to San Francisco or Dillon Beach is in order.

The Saints Row franchise is one of the most popular video game series around and Insert Coin doesn’t short change its fans with this jacket. As a gamer that started gaming in the late 70’s, it’s really nice to see someone putting out some high quality video gaming merchandise where low quality swag is the norm.

Insert Coin also makes gaming merchandise for other franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, inFamous, Watch_Dogs, and Killzone to name a few. With the kind of quality and care put into the design of their Saints Row jacket, we expect great things every time we order from them in the future and you should too.

Great job Insert Coin and please keep up the good work!
