I might not watch football much these days, but I’m still a fan of the Madden NFL series. There’s just nothing quite like the feeling of being down six points with ten seconds left on the clock and bombing the ball eighty yards down field in a last ditch hail Mary to win the game. But if there’s one thing that bothered me about the franchise as a whole, it’s that the developers always feel the need to minimze your achievements, as if it wasn’t impressive to get a shutout Superbowl win after an undefeated season on All Madden difficulty. It’s as if the game was saying “Nice job winning the Superbowl. Here’s a packet of confetti. Sprinkle it on yourself and go home.” This is one issue that seems to have been addressed in Madden NFL 11.
EA Tiburon recently released a video of Madden NFL 11 showcasing the all new fanfare that comes with winning the biggest annual sporting event in America. Gus Johnson lends his voice to the game in the form of some pretty nicely done team specific, post-Superbowl commentary. This time around, you’ll also get your Lombardi Trophy for winning the big game, as well as get the chance to meet the President Barrack Obama, the first president to appear in a video game since Bill Clinton in NBA Jam, and present him with a customized team jersey.
Check out the video below, and get ready to feel like you actually won the Superbowl when Madden NFL 11 releases in a few short weeks.
On a less professional note, now all they need to do is add President Obama to the playable roster. I can’t tell you how much I’d love to plow him into the ground with a 300 lb. linebacker.
@Joe – Hahahaha. That would be hilarious!
I mean, he’s a nice guy, but just seeing a tiny guy like that out there – the freaking president – it would just be funny.
That’s what I’m talking about. Politics aside, Obama seems like a great guy to just kick it with. But a better guy make eat turf.
Yeah, I’m not trying to get into politics here – just funny. Haha.
