Mac gamers can rejoice because Day of Defeat is now available for the Mac via Steam.
The game is one of the most popular Half-Life mods ever, and was originally created for Half-Life. When Half-Life 2 arrived, Day of Defeat: Source was created, taking advantage of the enhanced graphical capabilities of the Source engine to make for “next-gen” experience.
It isn’t next-gen anymore, really, since Day of Defeat: Source arrived shortly after Half-Life 2 in 2004, but, it is still immensely popular and incredibly fun. Players can assume the role of infantry, snipers, machine-gunners, and more, and can fight through the streets of World War II-era Europe in immense multiplayer battles.
It’s priced at a VERY reasonable $9.99.
Steam is an absolute blessing for Mac gamers, finally bringing popular to the long-ignored platform. Now, Mac gamers just need to keep their eyes out for Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 – hopefully they will be arriving soon.
